Most people who join Maxivita have never sold insurance. They come from restaurants and theme parks, retail, healthcare, the military, construction and college classrooms around Orlando, Kissimmee and the rest of Central Florida. Experience isn't the filter. Coachability, honesty and a willingness to do the activity are.
What "no experience" really means here
It means no prior insurance job, no sales background and no college degree are required. It doesn't mean no preparation: you still have to study for and pass the Florida 2-15 exam, and you still have to learn to explain coverage clearly at a family's kitchen table. We teach both. Your first appointments are run with a producing mentor, so you learn by watching and then doing, not by guessing.
What the first months usually look like
- Pre-licensing course and exam prep, with study check-ins.
- Pass the 2-15 exam, get fingerprinted and receive your license from the Florida Department of Financial Services.
- Contracting and product training before you meet clients.
- Field training: appointments alongside your mentor, then running them yourself with review.
Our guide to your first 90 days as a life insurance agent covers this stretch in detail.
The facts that don't change
- A license is required. You need a Florida 2-15 Life & Health (including annuities and variable contracts) license before you can sell. That means a state-approved 60-hour pre-licensing course, the state exam and a background check. See how to get licensed in Florida and our 2-15 exam study plan.
- Pay is commission-based. This is independent contractor (1099) work with no salary or hourly wage. You earn commission on policies you place; results vary with effort, skill and market conditions, and no income is guaranteed. Read how commissions work and what chargebacks are before you commit anywhere.
- You get training and support. A producing mentor sits beside you in your first appointments, you see the full comp grid before you sign, and we never sell leads to our agents.
